Brian “BigCity” Peterson founded BigCity CPA to focus 100% on making a positive impact to the financial futures of individuals, families and small businesses, as well as to spread the word on the significant benefits of investing in residential real estate.
Prior to starting his own firm, Brian had a successful corporate career in the San Francisco Bay Area spanning over 20 years, including as a director-level accountant for public technology companies in Silicon Valley and earlier as a senior audit manager with Ernst & Young LLP, a Big 4 Firm. Brian began investing in real estate in 2016 and currently owns multiple single-family homes in several cities/states across the U.S. Real estate has been an absolute game changer to his own financial future, and inspired him to finally leave Corporate America and pivot to starting his own tax practice.
Brian is an active Certified Public Accountant in California (2002 to present) with IRS privileges to e-file returns in all 50 states. He graduated Cum Laude from Montana State University-Billings in 1999 and passed all four parts of the Uniform CPA Exam on his first sitting.
Brian’s personal interests include traveling, running, reading and attending as many rock concerts as (un)realistically possible. He has traveled to 25 countries, visited 42 of 50 U.S. states, ran 6 full marathons and over 50 half marathons, and rocked out at hundreds of rock/metal concerts domestically and internationally.
